Dresden Germany Scalloped TrayPorcelain tray with scalloped edges, raised gilded scrolls, typical Dresden [Germany] rose and tiny floral motifs at both ends, courting couple image at center.
This tray was either intended as a pen rest (part of a desk set), for a comb or brush, or possibly as a double spoon rest because of the scalloped cutouts at each end. The center of the tray is slightly domed. The tray is from c:a 1900 to 1920, typical of gift ware that was exported around the world from the various Dresden, Germany, porcelain factories. This is not one of the so-called Dresden style or so-named patterns made by various china or pottery manufacturers in the U.S. and other countries. It's genuine Dresden from Germany manufacture. Condition: Gilding has the usual slight thinning at extreme edges. One tiny chip on back at one end, indicated on image, approx. 1/8" square, 1-2 mm deep. View closeup of Dresden mark here.
Size: 9 1/8" long x 2 7/8" wide (at widest point), 1/2" to 3/4" deep. Not returnable as condition is completely described. Price reflects condition: $60. +Shipping: $9.
