Designed and crafted by French master silversmith Guillaume Denière also known as Guillaume Deninger of Maison Denière in the 1850s, this lovely personal equipment of a hefty Table Fork paired with an equally solid Table Spoon was once owned by someone whose initials were P.T. To ensure that the set would always be recognized as his--we believe it was a man's set given the size--he had it elegantly engraved in large shaded capital letters.
At an impressive combined 162 grams, approx. 5.7 oz, the spoon measures 21.5 cm, or 8 7/16", the fork 20.75" cm, or 8 3/16". Both are stamped with the Minerva stamp for 950 grade solid silver in a rectangle with tapered corners, and the mark of Maison DenièreG D in a diamond shape.
